No, not that kind of pie! I wish though :) I really could use a big ol’ slice of homemade American apple pie topped with creamy vanilla ice cream, compliments of Dad of course!
We did have pie for dinner though, or at least that’s what they call it in Denmark. I was really confused when my host mom and host brother told me we were having pie for dinner, so she took out a big pie pan to see if that would help me figure out what she was talking about. Then she put a refrigerated crust in the bottom of the pan, so I was like, maybe it is like chicken pot pie? I went upstairs to check my email quickly, and when I came back to the kitchen she was pouring an egg/veggie/bacon mixture in the pan… and that’s when I realized it was quiche! Not warm apple pie, but still super delicious. Karen’s daughter Ann came over for dinner tonight too! She is 22, and she has her own apartment in the city while she is going to university for Economics. I had a lot of fun telling stories and joking with them over dinner… much more fun than sitting alone in my old apartment!
I had the day off today, so I slept in, did some homework, worked out, and picked up my package from my parents at DIS. They sent me my favorite chips ever, Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips, which broke open all over my exercise clothes they sent me. Oh well, I was able to save most of them :) They also sent me my tax forms so I could pay my taxes and fill out my FAFSA. I kind of forgot about everything from home that I would have to do while I was abroad… picking out classes for fall semester, taxes, summer plans, and housing for the following year. I also have two midterms on Friday I need to study for, so it’s going to be a busy night and day tomorrow!
Bye!
Emily
